Harajuku

Finally the weekends are here, after 4 gruelling days (monday was a holiday) of a caffeine-charged life working in the office. Decided to go down to Harajuku, check out some snow-wear and see if they are within my budget so that I won't have to wear silly purple snow pants again.

But before this 'shiong' shopping session begins......

Time for a brunch session with some new friends, Jun and Bernard!

Following Bernard's recommendation, we found ourselves at this small little street in Harajuku, housing a small little red restaurant which sells crepes. Looks like they celebrating chinese new year or something, with the red facade and all.
A distinct european style to the designs. Got some bagpipe-scottish music playing, reminding me of some boy's brigade parade or something.
A happy Bernard shakes off the winter cold in this cosy little corner. I think he likes wooden tables.

The crepe that I ordered. Filled with ham, cheese and a sunny side up. Delicious.

The dessert we shared. Some orange thing.

The arab-looking waiter. Think he looks cool.

After that is a walk along Omotesando and along the streets to Shibuya. Somehow we wandered and wandered and ended up walking the opposite direction of where the snow-wear shops are at. Tsk... not goal-orientated.

Takopachi eatery along the streets. Somehow these people don't feel cold.

2 happy fellow singaporeans jubilant at the thought of spending money on clothes. Evil Bernard meanwhile hatches some plot to make us spend money.

2 other happy singaporeans, Soffiah and Murthar.

A cliched shot of the blue skies and willowed trees. Singaporean mah.

And after much walking, we finally reached Shibuya.

A truck blaring music of the advertised pop group, whoever they are. Noisy advertisement.

My brother very 'gian' these shops, Beams and Ships. And no, they neither sell beams nor ships. Nice clothes by the way.

A gigantic Gap store.

Bathing Ape store entrance. Yellow shoes are lined up and moving along a conveyor belt underneath a glass panel on the floor. Interesting concept.

The famous Shibuya traffic crossing as seen from Starbucks. Had to hurry this shot as we are not suppossed to take pictures inside Starbucks. Big burly women are stationed as bouncers in case naughty tourists such as myself decide to break a rule or two.

That's all for now... Shall have a good rest on Sunday I suppose.

I want to eat chicken rice...
